Frequently Asked Questions
Our team of lawyers are available for a no-obligation free consultation.
We have access to any barrister from the QLD Bar, including Queens Counsel and Senior Counsel, and are available for after-hours consultation if needed.
When should I get a lawyer?
You should seek legal advice as soon as possible. Lawyers charge on an hourly rate, so if you can save time by getting advice early and settling before matters get litigious, rather than a drawn out disputes in the court, this could save you thousands.
I just need advice on a certain area, is this possible?
If you are unsure and just want a legal opinion, our lawyers are able to provide you or your company a written advice at short notice. This can be a good way to reduce your liability and ensure you remain compliant.
How much will a lawyer cost?
Our fees vary depending on the complexity and scope of your matter. Some files can be managed day-to-day by a paralegal with oversight from a lawyer, whilst others may require continuous oversight from one of our senior partners. We work with you to manage your case to suit your resources, and can provide a free consultation to talk you through your matter and the likely fees.
What information do you need from me in order to get started?
Our lawyers will ultimately want to be provided with a copy of any documents you have pertaining to the file. However, initially, a written statement of facts to date and your key goals will usually be enough to help us get started.
What are the risks?
Nothing is certain, particularly with law, and it’s important you understand there are risks involved in any dispute. However, part of being a good lawyer is to mitigate your risks and help you make informed decisions about the best course of action. It’s important you understand that very rarely will a dispute go away on it’s own, and the later you seek advice the higher the likely costs will be and the lower your prospects of a favorable outcome.
