Police Applications- do I have to go to court as aggrieved if police make application on my behalf?

This will be a police application so it is the police who are asking the court for the order, not you. They are acting on your behalf and also on behalf of everyone in society as Police normally do.

 

You do not have to be there at all unless the matter proceeds to a hearing/ trial and the police need you to give evidence.

 

You will normally have to give a written statement of evidence before the hearing – the police will do this with you - and often it is when all the statements are done that the respondent can see its probably not worth fighting. So don’t be surprised if it is still be adjourned and disputed until that point.
